Matt Ellis managed to knock 9s off his PB, as warm and windy conditions meant times weren't perhaps as quick as they might be. Ellis looked relaxed as he went through 7 miles in 36.30, and ended up with 70.15, which was enough for 21st place and first local man.
For the ladies Emma D'Alton ran a solid time of 79.05, which helped her to 9th place (8th Brit TBC) behind overall winner Charnwood's Gemma Steel, who ran 73.32. Lizzy Smith was the surprise package of the day, as she ran an amazing 83.55 knocking nearly 9 minutes off her previous personal best! Sophie Voller was next home for the ladies, with Robyn Golding in close pursuit, meaning the ladies are a great shout for the overall team prize (or 2nd place for sure), depending on the countback for Bristol & West, who had Lucy McAllister, Annabel Grainger and Grace Crane up there.
Other mens times included Robin Phillips 82.27, Colin Johnson 83.40, Steve Hawes 83.53 and Mike Hopkins 99.01.
Full results once available will be on the blog!
Well done all!
