Weekend Roundup!

Quite a few Harriers in action one way or another this weekend! Following on from the success of the Westbury Men on Thursday evening at Wrington, a number of Harriers headed into town to take part in the first of the Summer's Towpath runs. This approximately 10k, multi-terrainer, takes you from Greville-Smyth Park out onto the towpath that follows the Avon below Leigh Woods until you turn and return to make up the 10k.

Leading the club home was Robin Phillips - showing no ill effects from his exertions the day before - who clocked a time of 37.21 for 9th place. Graham Clark, who continues to show improvements of late, clocked  38.44 for 19th, with Jullian Bailey-Gard a little further back in 27th in 39.25. Then we had Matthew Lett-Charnock in 41.24 and Bob Pringle in 41.44. First lady home, was Sophie Voller - in her first outing since breaking the 3hr barriers - as she clocked 41.57 to finish 3rd lady overall.  Then we had Rebecca Lee in 43.35, Richard Hughes 44.49, David Taylor 48.21, Andrew Gibbons 48.29, Julian Wilson 49.01, Roger Long 50.51, Anneke Bull 51.49, Julian Pyrke 52.51 and Paul Mooney 55.09.

Then on Saturday, Debbie Marsden made her track debut in the colours of our partner club Yate AC. Despite only a handful of track races in her life, Debbie came 2nd in the A race 3k and then produced a convincing win in the 1500m in a time of 4.51.7 - some 6 seconds ahead of 2nd place!

Moving onto Sunday - Rich Collinson took part in his 2nd half marathon in consecutive weekends and following on from 2nd place in the Lichfield 1/2, managed 6th place in the Stratford 1/2, clocking 77.11, for an undulating course. He will be very happy!

Well done all!!
